ZAP! #32: Lease Me Your Ears

ZAP! #32...December 2, 2010
Notice how TV programming has started airing re-runs? Tired of watching the folks sweat on "The Biggest Loser" while eating dinner? Well Nielsen-breath, there is relief in sight.
While we are somewhat gun shy about announcing this, we have been informed by an independent source that Brett Shipp of WFAA-TV, Channel 8, will have a new segment tonight on the ongoing saga of the voodoo financing of the proposed Entertainment Center in Irving. If something happens and it doesn't air, we will know about it. Just don't e-mail us your snarky remarks.
Tonight's segment should reflect just how good/bad/indifferent/sloppy the city has been when spending money to reimburse Billy Bob for expenses related to the Entertainment Center. This report should be good fodder for the independent auditors the city has hired as they examine all the expenses that have been incurred at this stage of the project. Perhaps, the elected Bobbleheads now will start to fathom just how big this financial-ice berg might be. And maybe they will turn off the tap on the promotional Kool-Aid they have been distributing throughout the community.
