CCR 07-21-18 Water, Water, Everywhere

the   Controversial  Committee   Report
“We don’t raise sacred cows...we just butcher them.”

“Water, Water, Everywhere”

While some folks are attempting to conserve water during these hellishly hot days, there could be a workable solution to keeping your lawn green — Councilman Alan Meagher.

Yes, dear readers, Meagher (and perhaps a couple other council members) seem to be toting bucketloads of water for Billy Bob and Irving Taxpayers Matter director, Chris Allen.  However, you would be advised to check the pH level before utilizing any of this water on your lawn as contaminates could cause serious harm to you yard.

Those contaminates could be: collusion, PAC bucks, off-site smoke filled room meetings, and talking point ramblings which might have been soaking in legal swamp water.

One of the latest disingenuous pails toted by Meagher was an interview on Channel 11 TV regarding his attempt to have the ARK agreement re-negotiated.  While his comments seemed scripted from the Irving Taxpayers Matter play book, watch the full interview and note: ARK has already addressed this issue in the agreement with the city.  Meagher’s statements and undocumented “facts” do not appear to come close to holding water in this case.  Is this a case of "fake facts" being directed to the public?

The link to the Channel 11 TV interview is:

Since the TV reporter might not be familiar with all that is going on in the legal swamp created by Billy Bob and Irving Taxpayers Matter — against the city and ARK — staff of the CCR routed the reporter a copy of the “Billy Bob 2.0” CCR issue.

Be sure and catch the part of the interview, with Meagher, where ARKs official statement was noted:  “The ARK Group/City of Irving agreement does have a non-compete.  It does not prevent construction of other entertainment venues. It only prevents ARK or the City of Irving from investing or managing a similar entertainment center.”

Wow!  Doesn’t that sound like good, clear English to someone who doesn’t even have a law degree?

While there are several take-away points Meager fails to acknowledge in his interview, two are extremely important since: (1) the City of Irving owns the land and facilities for the Entertainment Center which means they would be competing against themselves and ARK…if they became involved in another entertainment entity; and (2) other entertainment venues are allowed as long as ARK and the city are not involved financially or in a managerial position.  This is only logical and fair to all others who might want to develop a musical venue in the city.

Doesn’t this drain the water out of Meagher’s pail?  Do you think, if he had paid better attention to genuine facts in the agreement, he might actually know what is occurring?  Should this make one wonder just how legitimate the law suits by Billy Bob and Irving Taxpayers Matter director, Chris Allen, might be?
The attempts to possibly garner a portion of the TIF funding from ARK — which was previously approved by the city council — by Billy Bob and Irving Taxpayers Matter has the appearance of metastatic crony capitalism.  And one should remember the previous law suits and dealings the city has had with Billy Bob in similar instances.

How much clearer does this faux re-negotiating of the ARK agreement have to be for Meagher to wad up his Irving Taxpayer Matters talking-point script to understand his buckets of water have some serious holes in them.

And to even consider, from other comments in recent interviews of others, that the current ARK agreement is going to prevent Tejano and Hip Hop music from being booked and promoted in the city should keep folks in stitches from laughing.  Seriously, should this even be considered or classified as an issue by the Irving Taxpayers Matter cabal?

Staff of the CCR is also utterly amazed Anthony Bond is now considered a ‘music genre protector' for the city regarding Tejano and Hip Hop venues.  Is he a newly hired water pail carrier, too?

Maybe, Meagher hasn’t checked the many Tejano and Hip Hop venues which have already appeared in the Entertainment Center, or booked to perform in the future at the center…otherwise know as the Irving Toyota Music Factory.

Yes, dear readers, this is going to be a long, hot summer.  Best book your lawn water now.

If weather predictions are accurate and hold true, those buckets of water may not be available when the Sahara Winds fry and dry the legal swamp Meagher is drawing his source of water from...to tote for Billy Bob and Irving Taxpayers Matter.
