CCR 08-22-18 Sweating and Weight Loss

the   Controversial  Committee   Report
“We don’t raise sacred cows...we just butcher them.”

“Sweating and Weight Loss”

Well, dear readers, staff of the CCR joyously informs you the mayor and Councilman Alan Meagher’s coo-coo clock bird — used to tell how much stalling time has elapsed without paying ARK the $44M TIF funds due them —  expired.

Cause of death: A demand letter from ARKs legal representative to the city manager, city council and TIF board to place, on the next council agenda, the item to approve and pay the $44M TIF funds due ARK by September 7, 2018.

(The entire document, without attachments, follows.)

No longer does it require three council members to place this needed item on an upcoming agenda.  The entire council is now responsible for this action.  And if the payment to ARK is not made, in accordance with the demand letter, then it could be safe to assume ARK will take the next step to seek compliance…a law suit against the city.

And one cannot blame ARK if they take this action!  If blame is needed, then look to the city council, city manager, TIF board, and the city’s legal department.  Period!

When reading the attached document, one has to wonder why ARK hasn’t already been paid.

The answer to this (as previously explained in recent CCR reports) is:  The utilizing of faulty advice, desiring to, perhaps, protect and reimburse cronies (Billy Bob and Chris Allen), and shallow attempts at bully ARK to re-open and re-negotiate the original Entertainment Center agreement.

And as previously noted, the ARK TIF funding is a separate agreement and has no bearing on the original Entertainment Center contract!  Period!

When reading the attached document, the points for making the $44M payment to ARK are clearly defined and the necessary approvals have already been granted for this action.

If the attachment doesn’t clearly reflect that the city manager, city legal department, TIF board, and city council have been on a disingenuous political track, then each individual opposing the payment to ARK should seek medical attention for suffering from acute BRAIN syndrome…that’s Balderdash Rationale for Acquired Information Nonsense.

If the council doesn’t act on this matter and pay thee $44M due ARK, then your tax dollars will probably be spent paying outrageous legal bills for a law suit the city will likely lose!

Frankly, this is no way to run Irving’s City government.

Side Note:  If some of the city council members appear to have recently lost weight, staff of the CCR doesn’t believe this is due to their conflicted worrying over not paying ARK the $44M due to them.
Instead, could their weight loss be due to sweating potential law suits and the closing of Billy Bob’s restaurants…which caused them to lose all their free drink and nosh tabs in these establishments?
