CCR 09-19-15 The Week That Was

the   Controversial  Committee   Report
“We don’t raise sacred cows...we just butcher them.”

   What a week!
In his usual fashion, when important issues hit the Irving mainstream, Dylan Westie, Executive editor/Part-time wordsmith and Social Media Troll for the CCR, hits his twitter account.  Here’s Dylan’s paw pounding, short summary of events as they transpired.

Summary of Irving’s wild week w/winners & losers at controversialcommittee.blogspot.com Thankfully, the losers rationale clocked out. Tick, tick, snicker!

Only backers of QueenB for "clock" media madness created by her toxic facts-fabrication speeches = Red Meat TEA-carnivore outlets. Surprised?

Dylan Westie @DylanWestie1 Sep 17
QueenB(Irving mayor) had TEA-carnivores @ CC (city council) backing her, ISD & IPD for
#IstandwithAhmed fiasco she created w/her facts fabrication speeches.

Sadly, QueenBs Flying Harpy bloggers creating conspiracy theories & defend her TEA-carnivore’s fabrication of facts re: Mac student's plight

QueenB (Irving mayor) s/b thanked for her TEA-carnivore branding (of) city causing worldwide embarrassment today! Happy now? What's next - ARK?!!

Of course, not all was good during the week.  When the dust finally settled, there were winners and losers.  See if your thoughts don’t echo sentiments which the CCRs staff observed during the week.

WINNERS
Avi Selk and the entire Dallas Morning News crew:  WOW!  If ever there was a rather simple story of social injustice, which smashed all levels of media exposure, the initial "clock kid" article managed to nearly cause the Internet to re-boot.  Without even attempting to make the "clock kid" a hero in the article, the worldwide attention, documentation and social media frenzy proved what was inferred — a serious wrong had been committed and proper justice had been denied.  Hopefully, that aroma wafting around DMN cubicles is the well deserved smell of Pulitzer.

The article:

Ahmed "the clock kid":  For all the right reasons, Ahmed Mohamed disproved Andy Warhol’s ‘fifteen minutes of fame’ adage, since the world better understands how a closed mindset of bureaucrats and knee-jerk reactionaries, with all the underpinnings of disregarding factual analysis, are lost when truth and justice are discarded or denied.  Sadly, the understanding and lesson took a 14-year old technology ‘nerd kid’ (and that is noted in complementary terms) to set the record straight.  His ‘clock’ now has been re-set as he has years to provide, to all the naysayers, the simple fact a brilliant mind can normally function better than a closed mind.

Citizens:  The local, state, national and worldwide support of citizens demonstrated the vast majority of individuals recognized ‘Zero Tolerance’ in school systems should not forego good common sense and the ability to rationally think like an adult.  Nor should safety protocols deny an individual their basic rights when a situation is not deemed what some might have imagined or perceived.  But then, this is Irving, isn’t it?  In the end, clear thinking and understanding citizens recognized and supported the virtues of educational creativity which should not be denied in classrooms.

LOSERS
QueenB VD:  There is little doubt the toxic spewing of fabricated facts, on her Red Meat TEA-carnivore speaking tour, attributed to all the negative publicity rained down on Irving and elected officials associated with the ‘clock’ issue.  After all, when non-local media outlets researched Irving for their reports, the main Irving item discovered (and noted) was the queen’s dogmatic, biased and untruthful spreading of her fabricated facts of fear and bigotry in her babbling speeches.

Flying Harpies and mini-Hobbits:  True to predicted dictates from QueenB VD, her flock of Flying Harpies and mini-Hobbits, on blog postings, managed to invent conspiracy theories, propose inane suppositions and browbeat those who noted the error and fallacy of their wrongheaded thinking regarding the issue and character of the individual at the center of the mega-viral ‘clock’ maelstrom.  Luckily, the Torofeca Storm of harpies and hobbits appeared to have blown back in their faces.

While there will be future and sporadic follow-up, for all that will occur with Irving’s "clock kid," one thing is certain…the events of this past week demonstrated good can still overpower evil bias in all its modern day media convolutions.

And for those who still believe the print newspaper-media is dead, a severe slap in the face was delivered to all the Millennial-Mindset of Thumb Text/Tweet Bloggers.  Without the print newspaper-media initiating the story and follow-up coverage for radio, TV and other publications, the Millennials would just be posting what the new Starbucks coffee flavor happened to be.

Finally:  If all this wasn’t enough to sate Irving’s reading enjoyment, the Irving City council actually approved the resolution to move forward by adopting the eight #55 Resolution items (kept under the queen’s ‘cloak of invisibility’ from citizens) which form the basis for restructuring the city’s agreement with ARK for the Entertainment Center.

Of course, QueenB VD had to provide a mini-snit fit with her "this isn’t the best agreement" blathering.  But then, something of this nature should always be expected when the queen isn’t getting her way, or her dictates are not being followed.  Yes, dear readers, this is just another sad example of her political stridency.

Start holding your breath now, as QueenB VD will have one more chance to drill holes in her attempt to sink ARK...when the agreements are returned to the council for final approval in approximately sixty days.

While the vote was 9-0 to move forward with the #55 Resolution items, any takers on an 8-1 vote when the agreements are submitted for a final vote?  (The queen being the petulant outcast vote.)

In all, Irving citizens had a lot to be proud of during the week of September 15-19, 2015.  If for no other reason, right thinking prevailed over bureaucratic and political malfeasance.  And when this happens, citizens are best served.
