There seems to be a bit of confusion among dear readers of the CCR regarding recognition of an Irving individual for inclusion in the 2015, Texan of the Year finalists by the Dallas Morning News.
For the Record: Dylan Westie, Executive editor/Part-time wordsmith and Social Media Troll for the CCR, after careful reading and interpretation advises CCR staff QueenB VD is not a Dallas Morning News Texan of the Year finalist.
The queen is a co-finalist…along with Ahmed Mohamed for a specific designation.
As Dylan so notes in the below tweets, the queen is actually part of a George Zimmer, of Men’s Warehouse fame, "2-fer" deal. You just can’t have one without the other. (And in this case, there would be a charge for any alterations.)
Why should this designation of co-finalist even matter? The answer is fairly simple…QueenB VD.
Knowing a political season is just around the corner, there will probably be many more Red Meat TEA-carnivore blathering speeches and "unsavory protestors" visiting Irving as a result of her mutterings. It simply wouldn’t be fair for QueenB VD to promote herself with any "Dark Money" political mailings, or on her multitude of FaceBook accounts, or YouTube videos as being a singular Texan of the Year finalist. She is a co-finalist.
And shouldn’t this language of co-finalist and her co-partner always be noted in any of her queenly pronouncements?
Even if QueenB VD does indicate she is a co-finalist, what are the odds she will even mention the ‘clock kid’ as her co-partner in this effort…20 to 1?
While staff of the CCR would like to congratulate QueenB VD on achieving this co-dependency honor of being a co-finalist, doing so would seem to be highly hypocritical. Why?
When one considers what QueenB VD has done to Irving to achieve this "honor," staff of the CCR doesn’t feel it right for the city to be noted as the laughing stock on the metropolitan/state/national level, have "unsavory protestors" with questionable goals marching around town and religious institutions with arms (and possibly sheets), or broadcasting to future residents and businesses Irving is a red neck hick-borough.
Seriously! Is this an award winning achievement to really crow about by QueenB VD?
That being said, anticipate QueenB VD spinning, babbling and paying her high priced Dallas political consultant to craft words which sound good, but fail to provide the true meaning of the queen’s co-finalist status.
After all, she is the queen and any photo op or award garnered must have political marketing potential for her self-aggrandizement.

What irony! QueenB VD (Irving mayor) being a co-finalist AND having to share a photo op. Yes, Virginia, there is poetic justice.
Even though staff of the CCR was not asked and just happen not to be able to vote, we would cast our ballots for Jordan Spieth as Texan of the Year. This fine young man has done more to promote Texas around the world, exhibit professionalism in his career, dedicate time and effort to his charitable foundation, and conduct himself in a manner fitting a true role model which many should emulate.
Spieth being awarded Texan of the Year would also mean Irving doesn’t receive another ‘black eye’ of horrendous publicity due to the continued political malfeasance and self-interest orchestrated by QueenB VD.
