CCR 09-24-20.Canine Art

 the   Controversial  Committee   Report
“We don’t raise sacred cows...we just butcher them.”

“Canine Art”

Today is a very special day.  And during this pandemic, these types of days have been very few and certainly scarce.

For background information, Dylan Westie, who was the Executive Editor, Part-time Wordsmith and Social Media Troll for the Controversial Committee Report, passed in 2019.  However, before trotting off to the doggy ethereal zone under the Rainbow Bridge, he did manage to “write” a remembrance book to celebrate the life of his pet guardian, Judy L. Howard.  (Yes, he did have considerable “assistance” with this book project.)

Dylan’s Limited Edition book was well received and all 300 numbered and signed copies were distributed.

As the pandemic has provided many individuals with a different level of “free” time when at home — as mall visits, dining with groups, and attending concerts are now impossible — many individuals have become involved in fresh personal activities.  And this has sparked new and outstanding creative endeavors.  Perhaps, all this will allow more individuals to check off or accomplish items on their “What I Want To Learn List” during these trying times.

And today, a new artist has emerged on the Irving cultural scene…Teresa Adrian

Always wanting to paint — even though she is already a gifted guitar player and song writing singer — Teresa is painting to absorb some of her extra personal time.   (She is also the musical headliner for any required Coffee Shop Group b-Day entertainment.)

And today one of Teresa’s projects is the highlight of this special day for the CCR…the unveiling of Dylan Westie’s “official” portrait created and painted by Teresa.

The term “official” portrait is used by the CCR staff since Dylan was “Almost” mayor of Irving in 2014.  As an “official” portrait, wouldn’t it be terrific if his picture hung in city hall opposite the photographs of QueenB VD?  Why not?  Most individuals surveyed would attest Dylan did more good for Irving than she did.  In fact, he helped quell many of QueenB VDs “cat fights” which were initiated when she was not getting her self-aggrandizing way.

However, forget the politics for now.  Having Dylan recognized by the tremendous talents of Teresa Adrian is recognition and reward enough.  Others would also agree.

Dylan believed in Irving.  He attempted to right political wrongs in Irving.  And he thoroughly enjoyed all the head pats received over the years for his CCR postings and opinions.

Thanks, Teresa.  Great job and do keep the brush sweeping across the canvas.  Your work is amazing!!

LAWYER STUFF:  Dylan’s Ruffings, the Controversial Committee Report, ZAP! and the O-file are published by Mark Holbrook who everyone knows -- except for a couple apathetic slugs whose IQ equals their shoe size -- is Mike Howard.  Any reference to persons deceased is purely out of respect.  For those still living, draw your own conclusions.  Get in line if you want to sue or complain.  Better yet, call someone who might really care.  Letters written must meet at least one of the following criteria: humorous, cat kicking, or not libelous.  Simple requirements for simple readers...that’s our philosophy.  “Cool and the Geezer” is syndicated by Ringtail Productions Limited and all rights are reserved.  The CCR and ZAP! are printed and issued only when local political idiocy becomes laughable.  Permission is granted to copy, fax, or e-mail this report to a friend, associate, or someone you really don’t like.  The “candid” conversation reports have been injected with fabricated nouns, verbs, conjunctions, adverbs, modifiers and maybe a few dangling participles.
