CCR 10-05-20 Plan B

 the   Controversial  Committee   Repo

“We don’t raise sacred cows...we just butcher them.”

“Plan B”

With the November election on the near horizon, staff of the CCR will initiate “Plan B” when it comes to voting this year.  This is a plan we hoped not to implement due to the fact the pandemic virus is still very active and floating throughout Dallas County.  Irving still ranks second, only to Dallas, in terms of the total virus cases reported in the county!

“Plan B” will result in our voting early in person.

Starting in very early September, a request for a mail-in ballot was requested from the Dallas County Elections office.  Much later in September, the elections office was called and informed the mail-in ballot had not been received.  We were told the ballots would soon be mailed and should be received within two weeks…well, that was well over three weeks ago.

As of this date, the mail-in ballot has not been received, and articles in the DMN reflect the issue of handling mail-in ballots by the Dallas County Elections office is fraught with problems and apparent lack of resolution to ensure voter integrity.  This is just horrible when it comes to one of our great American freedoms…the right to vote and know your vote is accurately counted.

Without floating any conspiracy theories, one can only ask: Why hasn’t/didn’t the

Dallas County Elections office make all the necessary preparations to properly handle mail-in ballots for November 3?  Any individual with common sense and an IQ larger than their shoe size would realize mail-in ballots would be greater this year than past elections.

But then, we sometimes give politicians and highly paid bureaucrats credit for having IQs greater than their shoe size.

Of course, voting in person will be a major event for the elderly and those with physical conditions.  However, with the proper protocol, the task could be accomplished.

It would be highly advisable to consider voting early in person instead of waiting until November 3.  The early voting dates are: October 13 - October 30, 2020.  Early voting locations are: City Hall, the Irving Arts Center, and the Valley Ranch Library.

A report on the local election candidates by the CCR will be provided prior to the start of early voting.

There is no need to express the significance of your voting this year — for both local and national candidates.  Seeing the fabric of our Republic being shredded each evening on the national news should be reason enough.
