dwT #26: What many folks fail to realize is that Irving already had an Entertainment Center without approving the $249 million contract with ARK early this AM. Every two weeks the city council meets to pull hair (ladies only), spin rhetoric and talking points, appear knowledgable, and act condescending to those with opposing views...with some even pontificating in an amusingly idiotic manner. Now, that’s entertainment!
Backstory clue for the information impaired: The Irving city council approved the contract with ARK early this AM for an Entertainment Center in Las Colinas, thus ending the long, sordid, costly and financially mismanaged attempt once promoted and pushed by Billy Bob, ex-mayor Gears and LCG. In the process, the city has also been removed from the law suit originally filed by LCG. What’s next? Citizens will be monitoring this new agreement to ensure that any ‘pie in the sky’ promised by ARK doesn’t fall as flat as squirrel roadkill on Irving Boulevard. Council members voting against moving forward on the project were: mayor BVD, “the Mouth” LaMorgese, “Rabid Weasel” Spink and “Flapjack” Farris.
