dwT #27: An Irving city council majority will initiate the new Anti-Phubbing Ordinance at their next meeting. This measure will also determine if mayor BVD can actually conduct a session concerning the budget, or any other critical issue without texting back and forth with her primary benefactor.
(Backstory clue for the information impaired: “Phubbing (v) The act of snubbing someone in a social setting (or council meeting) by looking at your phone instead of paying attention.” The term is directed toward inconsiderate individuals who seem to have constant thumb movement to text and receive messages when in a meeting, dining with others, or basically ignoring individuals in their immediate surroundings.
