Of course, the DMN was correct and accurate in noting QueenB VDs schedule today. Her perchance for creating any self-serving event/photo op/cause just knows no bounds.
After being in office for over four years, she just now believes the time is appropriate to recognize and honor our Irving PD? Really? Does this seem to have a coating of pandering, self-serving and "look-at-me" splashed on her event creation?
If you missed the blurb, here is the article as it appeared in today’s paper. Note the one sentence highlighted in red by the CCR. It appears QueenB VD is still carrying on her personal snit fit with the DMN.
DMN, 08-19-15: Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne will hold a press conference Wednesday to honor police and challenge other cities to do the same—a campaign she previewed during her summer speaking tour about Muslims.
“There seems to be so little respect for our laws and the line keeps blurring,” the mayor told a Kaufman County Tea Party audience in June, before she argued without evidence that Muslims were trying to supplant American courts.
Van Duyne referenced an attempted terrorist attack in Garland and told the crowd she was working with City Hall on “a day of getting back to respecting authority and appreciating them for the hard work they do.”
I’ve asked Van Duyne to elaborate on the plan, but haven’t heard back.
The mayor plans to announce the campaign at a public press conference with Dallas County Commissioner Elba Garcia, police and residents at 10 a.m. Wednesday on the fourth floor of the Irving Convention Center, 500 West Las Colinas Blvd. (Avi Selk)
Not communicating with the DMN is being "open and transparent?" This shines a positive light on Irving? This allows citizens to know what is happening in their city by their elected officials?

Dylan Westie, Executive editor/Part-time wordsmith and Social Media Troll for the CCR, did a little digging and discovered QueenB VDs next scheduled appearance and photo op after the fabricated IPD appreciation event. As expected, the secondary event was not highly publicized (or known to the DMN), and was by invitation only via the queen or a Flying Harpy blog-member. (No vegans invited.)

TODAY: QueenB (Irving mayor) launches another of personal publicity campaigns to garner support & attention. #RedMeatvoterscount Disses DMN!
While the #RedMeatvoterscount was created by the CCR, Dylan assures us it will become a staple (pun not intended) while following the non-Irving antics of QueenB VD. After all, she does appear to be doing more for her Red Meat-carnivore TEA sippers than for the citizens of the city.
