CCR 03-08-20 Recycled Egocentricity?

the   Controversial  Committee   Report
“We don’t raise sacred cows...we just butcher them.”

“Recycled Egocentricity?”

What is it with individuals who continuously want to recycle old, tired, and, perhaps,  less than successful ideas or principles on the public, and maybe voters?

For those not paying close attention, it appears a race for the Irving ISD Board of Trustees might have this denominator on the upcoming May 2nd ballot.

Ex-superintendent Jose Para, who might have exercised a non-standard, non-contractual “resign or be fired” clause, resigned in 2018.  He has now — hold your breath — filed as a candidate for District 2 on the school board.  Seriously?!  Yes, seriously.

The following Dallas Morning News article could be enough to question why one would consider voting for Para.  What is Para’s real motivation in seeking a board position?

When Para exited the IISD, on a very short and unannounced notification, he and the school board signed a “we can’t ever talk about this personnel item” document concerning his ‘resignation/retirement.’  So, Irving voters and tax payers have no clue as to why he left.  Para also received a rather large and handsome ‘golden parachute’ check on his exit.

The Dark Side:
What is Para’s agenda for wanting to return to the IISD in a position which could allow him to possibly attempt to implement items which may previously have been disregarded when he was superintendent?  Could he be seeking a bit of ‘payback’ for those who may have had issues with his management style?  Would retribution enter into his equation?  Does he have any hard feelings for current school board members who were serving when he ‘resigned/retired?’

They are so many unanswered questions with his apparent egocentricity to seek election to the school board.

Whatever the reasons, one could agree that recycling old, tired, or unfair actions and principles just might not be the best benefit or interest of the IISD.  While Para is a personal and decent individual, filing for the school board just doesn’t ring true with so many questions being unanswered.

Light Shines In:
However, dear readers, there is a viable and needed alternative available for the District 2 board position.  A candidate which should receive your strongest consideration has filed for the ballot.

While more information will be presented in later CCR reports, begin thinking about supporting and voting for Michael Kelly.  Why, you might ask?

Michael Kelly begins his campaign with some of the following positive elements necessary for an IISD Board of Trustees member:

* Both Michael and his wife grew up in Irving and attended Irving schools.
* Michael’s wife is currently an IISD teacher.
* Michael has two children with one currently an Irving student, and the other about to be a Pre-K student.
* Michael has a firm grasp on issues currently confronting the district, teachers, and tax payers.
* Michael knows and understands what is necessary to have the district excel above any current standings.
* Michael’s service on the board will provide a voice of rationale thinking for parents and tax payers of the district.

As approximately  50.7% of your total annual property tax bill makes its way to the Irving ISD coffers, electing a competent business, non- egocentric, and dedicated school board members should be a top voting priority on your list.

Stay tuned for more detail and information during the campaign cycle.  In the meantime, think Michael Kelly.

Republican Primary Wrap-up: U.S. Congressional District 24

*** The best and most honest candidate did not win — Desi Maes.  His loss wasn’t as a result of failing to connect with grass root voters and supporters, but rather being steam rolled by bushel baskets of money from out-of-state Sugar Daddy contributors, and actions by some key folks in the Republican party stacking the deck for a predetermined candidate in the primary election.  This was another classic example of the good guy loses, and the swamp-infused, career wanna be politico advances to the general election.  The party’s action, against a better candidate, in the primary election, may become the root cause for District 24 turning blue!

   Points to Remember:
* BVD should give Mike Bloomberg lessons on how to buy an election.
* Through February 12, 2020, BVD had collected over $766,000 in campaign contributions.  There is no total available on how many strings were attached to her voting arm for these contributions.
* BVD will probably collect and spend over $2M, in the general election, to sate her self-aggrandizing agenda in D.C.
* BVD now has a new batch of Sugar Daddy donors outside the District and Texas.
** Most Importantly: BVD did not carry the vote in all the Irving precincts.

Not winning all Irving precincts causes one to wonder just how Trump could say (in a tweet) she did a “great” job as mayor of Irving!  Even her Sugar Daddy donors and sycophant fans couldn’t provide enough bucks, Fairy Tale brochures, or Fantasy TV ads to help carry the vote where she served as mayor for six years.

Is there any wonder why some career politicos rank lower than used car salesman?
